I keep finding the family name Armitstead spelt with a (T) in connection with watermills (either SILK or COTTON), coalmining and land purchases in the northern area of Lancs and Yorks, including the Lune Valley and Upper Ribblesdale.

Hi Phil.  Saw you were looking for Armistead in Lancashire.  I have a very tenuous link with Elizabeth BOARDLEY marrying a Richard ARMISTEAD - a second marriage for Elizabeth.  She was born 1806 in Aughton, Lancashire and died
1885 in Morecambe/Poulton Le Sands.  I have no idea where or when Richard Armistead was born or died.  Elizabeth Boardley's  first husband, Richard, died in 1844 in Poulton Le Sands.Looking a bit further, I noticed that Armistead's were in the Lancashire area way back.Maybe you can tell me more!!!!
